Our Retreat

The House of Lotus was build according to astrological aspects, Vastu
rules (ayurvedic Feng Shui), ecological principles and local Buddhist
rituals.

The Retreat offers a Patio, a common room with its own library
and a spacious covered verandah as dining room. All our seven well
appointed, light and spacious double-rooms are boasting their own
terrace. The rooms are decorated with lots of flair and furnished
king-size beds, mosquito nets, shower with solar heated water, fan
and air-conditioning.

The house is build and furnished in a colonial style, surrounded by a
beautiful, well-kept garden with fruit trees, constantly blossoming
flowers, powerful palm trees and exotic animals and plants. Here you
easily can forget the outside world. A big swimming pool invites to
relax.

Untouched by tourism, the beach of Dodanduwa is only a few meters away. Strolling along the long, sandy beach or 5 minutes by Tuk-Tuk (local taxi) you can reach the beach and surf resort of Hikkaduwa.
Ones of Sri Lanka's most famous destinations. Coral reefs and sunken wrecks are a paradise for scuba diving and snorkeling. Hikkaduwa a busy tourist spot with many beach restaurants, shops and everything else you might desire.
